This Iowa family drove all the way down from Mason City to St. Louis for both their daughter’s senior pictures and a family session. I couldn’t have been more honored! Brent will always hold a special place in my heart, as he was my husband’s closest friend in high school back in the good ‘ole days of the Manning Bulldogs! In fact, Brent has always been a part of the BIG story told in our household whenever any of my kids ask me to tell them about the day I first met their daddy. Brent met his wife Katrina at college, and they were married just a few months after I married Dan. I’ve loved getting to reconnect every once in a blue moon over the years as our families have grown. I remember the day they told us they were expecting their first baby. And that may have tripped me up a little more than I care to admit as I was photographing that beautiful baby–now headed into her senior year!
This day, we headed to Queeny Park for our double session and Brena was quite the trooper! She pulled off a stunning senior gallery (to be on the blog in the next post) right along with a full family session. A child’s senior pictures is a beautiful way to document a very significant milestone. And I love it when families go ahead and go to the effort of updating their family portraits during this important year as well. One of the things that often gets discussed at some point during these senior sessions is when the next family portrait will be…and the answer always comes back with that senior’s wedding. While this may or may not always be the case–especially with younger siblings coming up for their senior years–wedding portraits are often the next milestone portraits to be taken after senior pictures. Amazing to think about, isn’t it?
Well, here they are–all the way from Iowa. Scroll down to see some of our favorites…and stay tuned for the next post with a few more of Brena!
