Stepping onto the grounds for Samantha and Noah’s wedding at Berkshire Ridge made me feel like I was back home. A sprawling property with stunning scenery everywhere you turn made photographing this incredible day a dream. Add in an outdoor ceremony shaded by large, gorgeous trees overlooking a quaint pond with cows surrounding as witnesses made me feel right at home. I’m a large animal veterinarian’s daughter from rural, small-town Iowa and I couldn’t help but laugh with joy upon arriving. No wonder Samantha and Noah chose this venue for their day. I was over the moon.
Samantha and Noah had such a beautiful and seamless day. It is always fun walking into the joy and anticipation as the bridal party is getting ready and the last-minute details are coming together. Berkshire Ridge has added another building to their property since my last time visiting, and boy was it one FABULOUS addition! A bridal suite that looks like heaven and a groom’s suite that is filled with ALL the guy things was second to none. Hello HUGE GIGANTIC GORGEOUS mirror! As soon as you walk in, you know it was made exactly for stunning brides getting ready to walk down the aisle. It was perfect for Samantha and her bride tribe, and it was nothing short of amazing for photographers who love natural light in beautiful spaces.
As we moved from getting ready through a first look with dad, it was finally time for the ceremony. I am always the photographer closest to the groom when his bride walks down the aisle. This spot is always a favorite of mine, and watching Noah see Samantha for the first time was just as emotional as I suspected it would be. These two high school lovebirds tied the knot, and the ceremony was layered with depth and meaning. Clearly this pair is one loved couple, as family and friends were out in droves and added to their celebration full of love and joy.
Samantha and Noah had one fabulous and accommodating vendor team. When staff and vendors make everything look effortless and beautiful, it sets the stage for an incredible wedding. Of course, I have to give a special shout out to my assistant photographer, Lisa. She is always a fun friend to have by my side, and I love uploading her images of the day of all the different perspectives and angles she sees. Samantha and Noah have one HUGE wedding gallery being delivered today, in part because Lisa was amazing, as always. Do check out this incredible vendor team:
