I’m pretty sure we couldn’t have had a more beautiful family on a more gorgeous night for this stunning storytelling session. I’ve known Melanie for a few years now, as she puts up with me and my hair about every six weeks or so when I go into JC & Company for a haircut. I’ve enjoyed hearing stories about her family as I see a couple of pictures of them hanging up just to the right of the salon chair. So I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt when we were planning this session that the only thing I needed to cooperate with me was the light that day, because I knew Melanie’s family would be amazing. And they were.
I did have just one simple rule that night. You see, I watched Barrett run once on a video that was posted to Facebook. And she runs REALLY fast. And given Brandon is in charge of CrossFit Valley Park, I knew I had NO hope of keeping up when I asked the kids to run. So run…but by all means have mercy on me and RUN SLOW! 😉 So they did. And we took so many beautiful images that night–images that were more than just portraits–but images that told a story…a story of connection and love and light and ALL the things I love about family.
