Ahhhhh…you are about to welcome a new baby–congratulations! Soon you will be an exhausted–but completely smitten–with quite possibly an older sibling or two…or seven also needing attention. There’s nothing quite like the early days of bringing home a sweet and tiny babe. But those moments pass all too quickly, and often you’re in such an exhausted daze that it’s hard to take it all in. But this is where I come in! I would love to freeze time so you can go back in time–whether that be next month, next year, or when your little baby has grown and begins having their own children.
I’m excited to tell you about everything I offer that revolves around your sweet baby–from a maternity session all the way through the baby’s first year. You may only want to book a newborn session. Or you may want to book the whole enchilada! So I am going to begin by explaining how my newborn sessions work, and then I will tell you about all the other things you might want to add to that newborn session–maternity, milestones, and family.
TWO OPTIONS!!
OPTION ONE: LIFESTLYE & POSED NEWBORN SESSION
Over the years, have done both posed and lifestyle newborn sessions and absolutely loved them, so I’ve decided to combine them to get the best of both! Here is how it works: about 7-14 days after your baby arrives, I come to your home for your session. (There are times where this timeframe is impossible to meet, so don’t stress–I’ve set up sessions with babies a little older as well!) But don’t worry about a thing–especially that whole cleaning your house part! All I need is some good window light and your family, and I can clear some baby clutter to find our best spot. Believe me, I’ve had seven babies and if I come into your house being spotless, then we can’t be friends! 😉 For the family portion of the session, it will have a lifestyle feel, which means you get to cozy up and snuggle your sweet babe in your own home. If there are any special places you’d like me to capture, I will be sure to include those. Just about everyone wants to include their baby’s nursery, so that is exactly what I do! (And you will be amazed how tiny they look just a few short weeks after this session, they grow so fast!)
I will also take a few more posed images of just your newborn. For that part, I will bring everything I need so you don’t have to worry about a thing! I will coordinate with you before the baby arrives on what colors will work best for your home and we can talk through wardrobe for mom, dad, and siblings. For these sessions, simple and comfortable is best.
OPTION TWO: LIFESTLYE ONLY SESSION
If you aren’t interested any posed images of your newborn, then the lifestyle only session is just for you! It follows the above description of the lifestyle portion of the session, minus the posed newborn portion.
MATERNITY SESSIONS
If booking a maternity only session (not along with a newborn session), those sessions fall under my normal session pricing, see HERE. But if you are booking both newborn AND maternity, the maternity session can be booked as an add-on, which saves you money when bundled together! (See pricing below.) Often these sessions take place outside, but I have certainly done in home sessions as well. We can talk and see what you would prefer!
MILESTONE SESSIONS
Some families would like to schedule milestone sessions for their little ones as they grow through their first year. Usually this includes a sitter session and a one-year session. If you decide to book BOTH a sitter and a one-year milestone session in addition to a newborn session, I would love to gift you a complimentary family mini-session to take place during the one-year milestone session!
NEWBORN SESSION BOOKING & PRICING
To book a newborn session with me, you will need to do two things to kick it off. 1. Pay the retainer fee. 2. Sign the contract. Both of these can be taken care of online in just a matter of minutes. It is not until AFTER your session has been edited (about 3 weeks or so) that we will meet together to go over your images and you make your purchase selections. What can you purchase? Well, that is up to you! Just about everyone purchases the edited digital collection. And many add wall art or an album.
SESSION RETAINER FEE: $150
This fee includes:
- my upfront time to plan and photograph the session
- use of props, wraps and newborn wardrobe (for posed portion of the session)
- access to my wardrobe styling service
- in-person ordering appointment about three weeks after the session

ARTWORK
Does professionally finished artwork look that different than printing yourself? YES. Yes, it does! While that doesn’t mean you have to purchase professional products, it is something to really consider as you think about how to display your beautiful images in your home. I will show you the possibilities at your ordering appointment so you can see for yourself!

So many clients leave their sessions with several portraits they love…more images than they can possibly put on their walls.
