Talk about a fabulous birthday gift idea–I think Tyler was spot on when he asked if I could photograph a family session as his gift to Kim for her birthday. Would I? Absolutely, I would! And we had all sorts of fun pulling this off! This family brought their A-game for family fun–and I brought in my own fantastically fun assistant–my husband, Dan. Throw in their new dog, a few jokes going on behind my back as I’m taking pictures, and we get results like these.
One common theme I’ve been hearing over the course of my family sessions is from the husbands and fathers. After all is said and done with photographing the session, many have approached me to tell me that they weren’t really looking forward to the session going into it. (No surprises, there!) BUT then they go on to say that they were surprised at how it wasn’t what they expected at all–that it was actually…(dare I say it?)…kind of FUN!
Yes! Yes, it is! And when they come to my office to see all their final portraits for the first time in a video slideshow…well, let’s just say it’s not only the moms who shed a tear or two. 🙂
