Mariah and Steve’s downtown St. Louis engagement session was nothing short of a dream. When you pick a Saturday in January and hope for the best, we couldn’t have asked for better day! The light, the location, the couple…all of it came together just so. When I heard these two were traveling down from my husband’s and my old stomping grounds in Iowa City, I had a feeling we would click. And that we did! They decided that since their wedding day would look more like a garden scene, they wanted to head into the city to grab a different vibe for their engagement session. Of course, I absolutely love city sessions–LOVE them! And these two pulled out ALL the stops, as we tend to do a lot of running around when we’re downtown with so many fabulous areas calling our name. Add that that the cooler temperatures of winter–as well as me having them sit in the middle of a street while my son and assistant for the day made sure we didn’t get run over–well, let’s just say they were great troopers and I couldn’t have loved them more! While I am never one to want to rush time, I do know that this is one wedding I can’t wait to capture this coming September.
