Could we have asked for a more beautiful night for this gorgeous extended family’s session in Forest Park? I don’t think so! I met Dawn and Tim nearly two decades ago when my husband and I had just moved from Iowa to St. Louis. I was pregnant with my second, and their daughter, Heather, was pregnant with twins. My son and the twins were born exactly 6 weeks apart to the day, and I love getting glimpses of them growing up as I watch Dawn’s FB posts. Dawn was also originally from Iowa, and I’ll never forget my first conversation with her, as I immediately felt at home. I don’t get to see her very often, but I always love getting to visit with her when I do. When Tim called me about taking their family pictures, I didn’t hesitate for a second, I knew I would love every minute of it!
As I’ve said before, pulling together schedules and wardrobe for an extended family session can feel like a daunting task. But I had no doubt that this crew would look amazing. Let me just say one name…ERIN. Need I say more? For those of you that know her, you wish you could have her style your whole family every morning. She has this incredible ability to make everyone look like they belong on a magazine cover. And I think this family certainly does!
I sometimes get teary putting the final images together for the slideshow I show the families when they see their gallery for the first time, and this was one of those sessions for me. Family is beautiful. It is beautiful, messy, crazy and hard. But I think it is one of God’s greatest blessings to the world, and it is always good when we can pause for an evening and find the beauty in the connections and legacy that comes from being together. Scroll on down to see some of our favorites of this incredible crew…and be sure not to miss the one picture that shows off an incredible talent that Tim shares with his daughters! 😉
