I’m not sure we could’ve picked a hotter day this summer to pull of this stunning extended family session. Of course, Bonnie and I set the date last spring–and when family is coming in from California, you take what you can get! The entire family were absolute troopers, and I’d have to tell you which pictures were at the end of the session because you wouldn’t be able to tell from looking at them which were first and which were last after more than an hour of grueling heat. And since we tackled these family portraits in the morning, I think their plan was to head to the lake when they were done–I can only hope they jumped in the water quickly to cool off!
I strongly believe these are legacy sessions, as there’s something quite powerful and important with family and the generations you influence over the years. To see everyone in the frame–grandparents, children, and grandchildren–that is what I consider beautiful. I love that in a week or two, Bonnie and Brian, along with the rest of their clan, will have beautiful portraits hanging on their walls–a daily reminder of one of God’s greatest blessings to us this side of heaven.
