Ahhhh…talk about a photographer’s bliss for this little fairytale princess session at George Winter Park. My last post was of a beautiful family all the way out from California (click HERE to see their session), and I had mentioned that there was more to come. As soon as I realized WHO I was going to have the honor of photographing, I loaded up my car with a few princess options and an old antique lantern I’ve been hoping to have an opportunity to use. Well, little Sienna seem completely thrilled with the idea of being princess for the night…as she truly is a princess after all. We had so much fun watching her Cinderella moment, and she went home with her “crown” to remember the night. And of course, we couldn’t possibly leave the little guy out on the fairytale fun!
While I was photographing these two precious siblings, along with their extended family, my own husband and son were across the ocean serving more than 2000 orphans and staff in Uganda. So the vast discrepancy between children such as these two and the children my husband and son got to spend time with was at the forefront of my thoughts while I edited through this session. Here are two beautiful children–Sienna and Liam–who are loved and fed and educated and given the opportunity to play and dream big dreams. That is how it should be with every child. And I think that is one of the reasons why I love photographing families and children and turning those images into beautiful and artistic portraits–it is my expression of what I want the reality to be for every child who graces the face of this earth. And for these two, it is. What they have is a love and profound beauty that these portraits only scratch the surface of. And that right there is not just a fairytale, it is the reality of their everyday.
