I met this beautiful family for the first time when we photographed their recent portrait session at George Winter Park in Fenton. Gabe is a brother to a good friend of mine, and he brought his family to St. Louis from California for to visit his Midwest extended family for a few days this summer. (In fact, we also did their extended family pictures that night, which I hope to feature on the blog sometime soon!) I had seen a Facebook post with a picture of their kids the day before their session, and I was over the moon that I was going to have the chance to get them in front of my camera. Usually when I have young children in a session–which I absolutely LOVE–I go in prepared to burn a few calories to get the images I’m hoping for. Not so with these precious littles! I couldn’t believe that they not only pulled off a full family session, but also an extended family session–as well as some final individual pictures after that! They were troopers!
I wanted Gabe and Cassie to have their viewing and ordering session while they were still in town, so we met to go over their final portraits sooner than my usual timeframe. Usually when my families view their images on a slideshow for the first time, it can be rather emotional. I’m used to a few tears (happy ones, of course!), but these two took the cake! Cassie’s mom FaceTimed in from California for the appointment as well, and as soon as the slideshow began, Gabe and Cassie were out of their seats cheering every time an image came up they loved. I actually tried to get it on video because we were having WAY too much fun, but it turns out I’m a better photographer than videographer, as I apparently didn’t hit the record button like I thought I had!
Be sure to scroll through to see some of their favorites. However, I must warn you, these aren’t their ONLY favorites. I may or may not have thrown a poofy white princess dress in my car before I headed out to this session, JUST IN CASE a certain little someone might be interested in having her princess debut at George Winter Park that night. That, OF COURSE, is so VERY deserving of it’s own blog post. So stay tuned…
