I love it when I know just a little of the story behind the souls in front of my camera, and this Forest Park maternity session certainly has such a beautiful story to be told. When Tami (do scroll below, because we of course had to get this new Grandma in a picture or two!) contacted me about taking pictures of Megan and Bobby, I was over the moon. SO MUCH JOY is awaiting this tiny one soon to be born, and I love that I got to document a bit of the love he or she is about to enter. Babies are miracles, no matter which way you slice it. And this little one is already so very loved. SO VERY LOVED.
We couldn’t have had a more perfect night for this gorgeous session. Mix pregnancy and summer heat and that usually sounds miserable. But the temperatures cooperated with us that evening, and the light was nothing less than stunning. I’m pretty sure Megan and Bobby would look incredible in just about in situation, so I knew before the evening began it would be amazing. Add to that their absolutely ADORABLE dog and we had the perfect mix. And let me just say in all of the things that need to come together for a session, I’m always thinking of one more beautiful soul during maternity sessions. While I do hope that Megan and Bobby love their pictures both now and in the years to come, I am envisioning this sweet babe growing up and asking to see these pictures again and again, just as some of my own children do as they’ve gotten older. In fact, it’s my daughter’s 18th birthday as I type this. And once again, our family sat around the table this afternoon while her dad and I recounted my pregnancy with her and day she was born–with everyone around the table chiming in with their favorite memories of their sister every day since.
So these moments matter. These pictures matter. Of these precious days that will soon dissolve and rise in an entirely new season, only to be remembered and seen again by the stories we tell and the images we share… Scroll on down to see some of my favorites…
