When Gabriel started working on his pilot’s license before he was even sixteen, I not so subtly hinted to his parents that I wanted to do airport senior pictures for his senior session. All I needed was an airplane, and I knew it would be a rather epic session. Fast forward a couple years and several months and here we are…Gabriel now a pilot and soon heading off to Moody flight school, and me completely over the moon that we had not just ONE airplane, but several!
Here is another senior where I could tell you about the day he was born, and so many other stories before and after. Gabriel is fifth in his sibling line-up of high school graduates and I’m not quite sure what to think about all of it. His parents and Dan and I collectively have 15 kids between us, and we went from people asking us if we ran a daycare whenever we were out and about together to asking us if we ran a youth group as the kids got older. Life is a complete adventure and Gabriel and his family has been such a big part of that adventure for our family.
As I knew would be the case, the wardrobe would be simple–a flannel shirt, a tee-shirt, and a flight jacket. Add in something a bit dressier for one wardrobe switch up, and we had our session. So we began at Faust Park before we headed to the nearby Chesterfield Airport. As always, I encourage mom and dad to jump in a few images, and the rest??? Well, let’s just say it was entirely epic. And I got to knock a senior session with airplanes off my bucket list.
I ALWAYS love following my seniors as they move into official adult life and become who they are meant to be. But this one will be so interesting to watch, as he caught a vision early on that is full of intention and mission. One day he will be flying around the world, meeting the needs of those in vulnerable places and sharing the passion of his heart. Yeah, this is one I can’t wait to watch.
