An Iowa Hometown Senior Session

by | Feb 22, 2024 | Senior Portraits

Could I be anymore biased about Jack’s Iowa hometown senior session?  Probably not, as Jack is my all too grown-up, handsome nephew and we photographed his senior session in my hometown of Manning, Iowa.  It really doesn’t get better than that!

We set up Jack’s session for when my family was back in town just before Christmas.  I asked my brother to take me for a quick drive through Manning before the session, which ended up being a riot.  Main Street in Manning is unforgettable–it’s not that I didn’t remember well all the beautiful places in our hometown.  But because it was a SENIOR GUY session, I told my brother we needed to go exploring through the back alleys.  We had a great time, as he was quite sure I was more excited about broken windows and dumpsters than much else.  While that was a bit of an exaggeration, my mom and sister were intrigued enough that they wanted to go along with us when it was time to head out for pictures.  We were quite the sight, traipsing through the alleyways, as my sister was battling a cold and carried a roll of toilet paper with her to deal with a runny nose. They pretty much laughed at me through the whole thing, as we stopped in the BEST spots the alleys of Manning had to offer.

Next, we headed over to one of my favorite places in Manning and found all kinds of photogenic treasures.  Jack was a trooper and pulled out all the stops as he rolled with his crazy aunt and ended with one incredible senior gallery!  Never mind the winter chill, this is one session I’d photograph again in a heartbeat.  Pictures aside, I have a pretty incredible nephew, and it’s awfully easy to be SO PROUD of the young man he’s growning up to be.

On that note, and before I get too sappy and start telling you “little” Jack stories of all my memories of him growing up, I will sign off and let you scroll on down to see some of my favorites from his session…
