There is nothing quite like lake life during the lazy hazy days of summer, especially when you’re at Lake Panorama in Iowa. My family is usually up at this particular lake a couple of times each summer when we travel back to Iowa to visit family. Being at the lake means the hair goes up in a ponytail, the swimming suit is almost always a part of the wardrobe, and the docks are constantly littered with fishing poles, life jackets, and laughing kids. Needless to say, just about everyone lives outside when you’re at the lake, which means you always get to meet your neighbors. Thankfully, my mom and dad have some pretty fantastic neighbors–also originally from Iowa, but Danielle and Hailey coming in from their current home of Washington State each summer. This trio hits it on the head with kindness–bringing over a rather large stash of Casey’s doughnuts to feed our crew one morning, as well as sitting on their dock to cheer us on as we launch another first-timer on ski’s behind the boat. If only the world could echo the simplicity of neighborly kindness…
And so we have a little summer photo session.
If I remember correctly, Danielle said it had been a few years since they’ve taken professional pictures. As with every family, time seems to slip so quickly by. The lake, the light, the people–all beautiful, as I knew it would be. Here are few of their favorites to enjoy…
