Oh my, what a STUNNING wedding day for Dana and Steve at St. Ambrose this past November! It was CRAZY cold outside and at the same time, CRAZY beautiful! Wedding days always seem like a whirlwind–I’m sure for the bride and groom–but also for me. So it’s always fun for me to relive the moments as I edit through wedding pictures, and this wedding is no exception. The day is done, we’ve made it through the holidays, Dana and Steve had a gorgeous honeymoon, and now it’s time to go back in time to enjoy November 19th all over again. St. Ambrose on the Hill was gorgeous in and of itself. But what struck me that day was the message Fr. Chris Holtman delivered. So impactful. And so personal. And the music? Well, I for one am a complete sap for good music, and I had chills every time the sanctuary filled with the classical violinist, pianist, and vocalist. Everything about the ceremony was beautiful.
Dana had asked when I first met her about doing bridal party pictures at her alma mater, St. Louis University. And for as cold as the day was, it was an entirely epic location for pictures! The bridal party pulled out all the stops and made being a little chilly plenty of fun. Talk about a fabulous group of friends! We topped off their portrait time in front of Humprey’s, another special location, and then they all headed for the much warmer party bus!
Now let’s talk about their reception at the Old Rock House. I had never been there before and it was so impressive! Add in a crazy amazing live band, One Way Traffic, and you had one incredible reception. I’m a little old to be a band groupie, but I’m certainly going to go find them some day when they are playing again. What an amazing, AMAZING evening when it was all said and done.
