When I asked Mike to bring along his Chevy truck for this fantastic family session, he didn’t put up a fuss one bit. And I couldn’t have been more pleased with the results! As many of you know, I love this family very, VERY much. And I am so honored they asked me to do a portrait session for them this fall. When my family moved to St. Louis fifteen years ago, we moved eight hours away from home. I had just found out I was expecting our second baby and was feeling the isolation that a new move often brings. Cheryl and her family were key to us feeling welcome and at home here. And over the years, the Kelley family has become family to us. I know many people would write the exact same thing about this precious family if they were writing this post, because the Kelley’s exemplify on many levels what love, commitment, and friendship truly is. It’s easy to find people who talk the big talk. But as life gets messy and complicated and confusing, you’ll find that this is a family who walks the walk right down in those messy trenches you find yourself in. And my family couldn’t be more blessed to be in their path.
We had such a great time this past weekend going over their gallery and choosing which of their favorites they wanted displayed in their home. We are definitely redecorating a few of their walls in time for Christmas! I don’t know who is more excited, them or me! You will love their choices. Will the truck be displayed? You bet it will! And the one at the bottom of this post? Yes! I LOVE that picture especially. And they have just the place to display it…you’ll have to stop in and check it out.
