Of course there is a bit of catch in my heart when I introduce this beautiful girl as being a senior in the class of 2020. You see, when my little family moved to St. Louis eighteen years ago, we found out we were expecting our son, Luke, the very weekend we moved in. Fast forward nine months, as we were checking out of the hospital two days after he was born, and we passed by the waiting room full of anticipation as Ellie’s family was awaiting her arrival that day. Ellie and Luke have been in the same Sunday school class in the same church every year since, and this is just another reminder of how quickly they are growing up. It was only fitting that we did Ellie’s senior session at Family Camp, as that place will always hold a special place in our church family’s hearts.
Pinecrest Camp is gorgeous on every level, and that afternoon the light was incredible. I had three helpers tagging along, and I certainly needed everyone when we ran out to do some captures on the highway! I love how behind the scenes can look so silly and yet the images taken can turn out just the opposite of all the craziness going on all around.
